I am one of those very fortunate people who knew from an early age which career I would pursue. From the age of thirteen, I wanted to be a doctor. Practicing medicine focused upon women's health is the culmination of that dream.
The opportunity to meld science and compassion along with surgical skills is very fulfilling for me. There is always something new to learn. In addition to the many hours I regularly spend with continuing education, I have learned much from my patients over the years.
I am very blessed to have both a successful career and marriage. I am married to Dr. Henry R. Smith , a doctor of psychology. We are both California natives, but are delighted to have moved to the paradise of Hawaii... it has been my husband's dream since his first trip to Hawaii in 1964.
I enjoy slack key music, cooking, gardening, tennis, scuba diving, traveling, and snow skiing. Most mornings before office hours, you can find me at The Club, working hard to stay fit.
